In Madhya Pradesh, the Electrical Contractor License is issued by the **Electrical Safety Department** (under the Chief Electrical Inspector, Govt of MP). It allows contractors to legally execute electrical works.
This license is categorized mainly into **'A' Class** (HT works) and **'B' Class** (LT works). It is a mandatory document for vendor registration with MP Discoms (MPMKVVCL, MPPKVVCL, MPPoKVVCL).
Without this license, no contractor can undertake government projects or issue test reports for new connections in Bhopal, Indore, or anywhere in MP.
Firms engaging Diploma/Degree holders or ITI staff with valid MP Competency Certificates.
Must produce a Bank Solvency Certificate as per the class of license applied for.
Apply via the MP Electrical Safety / Shram Seva Portal.
Deposit the fees via Cyber Treasury and attach the receipt.
Submit physical file at Satpura Bhawan (Bhopal) or Divisional Office.
Department verification of staff and instruments.
Final approval by CEI/Assistant CEI and digital/physical issue.
